The ACCOBAMS/ASCOBANS Joint Bycatch Working Group was established in 2019. The First Meeting of this Working Group was originally planned to be held in 2020, but due to the pandemic crisis it has been finally decided to held it online, 10 to 12 February 2021. In 2021 we are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of ACCOBAMS, which was signed in November 1996 under the auspices of UNEP/CMS.
A commemorative logo to mark this important milestone was selected amongst many excellent proposals received.
We are deeply thankful to all the authors having submitted their valuable proposals to ACCOBAMS.
We are glad to announce the winning proposal below, following a decision by ACCOBAMS Bureau meeting held in December 2020.
The 25th Anniversary will be celebrated in November 2021, in parallel with the 14th Meeting of the ACCOBAMS Scientific Committee to be held in Monaco.
UNEP/MAP-SPA/RAC is launching a call for consultancy to update the Action Plan for the conservation of cetaceans in the Mediterranean.
The objective of the consultancy is to propose an update of the Action plan for the conservation of cetaceans in the Mediterranean to be presented as a working document to the next SPA thematic Focal Points meeting (June 2021) to be finalized and endorsed in view to be submitted to the MAP Focal Points meeting and to the CoP22 for adoption.
