Since the early 2000s, the ACCOBAMS Secretariat has been headquartered in the Principality of Monaco, at the heart of a diplomatic and scientific environment conducive to regional cooperation for the conservation of cetaceans and their habitat.

On the occasion of the recent relocation of its offices, the Secretariat had the honour of welcoming H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco for an official visit to its new premises. This meeting enabled the Secretariat team to present an overview of its missions, its ongoing projects and the concrete results achieved in the implementation of the Agreement.

ACCOBAMS Survey Initiative Release Event 22 april 2021

The ACCOBAMS Survey Initiative (ASI) led in 2018 and 2019 to the first marine megafauna monitoring campaigns ever carried out at the scale of the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea.  After two years of intensive in-depth analysis of the data, the reports of the results are made available for the best and widest possible use, at the service of the conservation of the marine environment. At the occasion of the release of the reports , the ACCOBAMS Secretariat organized on 22 April 2021 an online event to present the main findings of the ASI.
