ASI: Stop-over R/V Song of the Whale in Bizerte
On August 4th 2018, ACCOBAMS co-organised with the Regional Activity Center for Specially Protected Areas (RAC /SPA) and the organisation “Méditerranée Action Nature” a presentation of the ACCOBAMS Survey Initiative while taking this opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of preserving marine environment.
The event in Bizerte, Tunisia, was held during the stop-over of the research vessel Song of the Whale. Members of the general public including many children were able to visit the boat and discover the work of the marine biologists and other crew members.
Mr Missaoui, Director of the National Institute of Sciences & Technologies of the Sea (INSTM) of Tunisia and Mr Attia, Director of the Regional Activity Center for Specially Protected Areas (RAC /SPA) provided the opening remarks.
The ACCOBAMS team presented the ASI and shared the preliminary results from the census.
