ACCOBAMS 2018 Call for proposals

The ACCOBAMS Permanent Secretariat is opening a new call for proposals for projects.
This call for proposals should address one of the following priority topics:
– Support to the assessment and mitigation of interactions with fisheries in the areas not already covered under the MAVA funded projects on interactions with fisheries;
– Support to the establishment/reinforcement of stranding networks and tissue banks and to the monitoring of marine litter during necropsies, in particular through dedicated collaborations.

New study on pollutants in Mediterranean dolphins

New research shows that dolphins in the northern Adriatic contain high levels of PCBs, highly toxic chemicals banned in the 1970s-1980s, and that females pass on their pollutant burden to their young. A new study, led by Morigenos – Slovenian Marine Mammal Society, was published in the journal Science of the Total Environment.

ACCOBAMS 12th Meeting of the Scientific Committee

The ACCOBAMS Twelfth Meeting of the Scientific Committee (SC12) was held in Monaco from the 5 to 8 November 2018 in Monaco. It was attended by Members of the Scientific Committee, Representatives from International Organizations and Observers, including Partners of ACCOBAMS.
