2007/05/14
In the frame of the development of the National Networks of Cetacean Strandings Monitoring, the ACCOBAMS Secretariat collaborated with the Institut National de Recherche Halieutique (INRH) of Morocco to organize a training course on Cetacean Strandings Monitoring techniques.

The course was held in Mdiq on the Mediterranean coast of Morocco. It was attended by about 15 Moroccan scientists.

A part of the course included conferences and considerations on the most appropriate procedures for the working of the Moroccan National Network of Cetacean Strandings Monitoring.
The other part was devoted to the autopsy of dolphins' carcasses and to the tissues sampling.
To this purpose, scientists analysed 2 carcasses of dolphins stranded on Moroccan coasts.
